Musical instrument from Benin

The tchangot tche is made of oncoba spinosa fruit. To play, the musician takes one of the two spheres in the hand and passes the string between the thumb and index finger. The principle is then to knock the two fruits together by swinging the second sphere around the hand and then bring it back.
The percussive music comes from the shock of the fruits and the shaking of the seeds.

Materials: dried fruit of Oncoba spinosa, string and small stones.

Dimensions: 17 cm approx.

Country : Benin

The string can be lengthened to adapt the instrument to the size of the hand.
